NOTE: In pipeline protection zones and inside refineries (ATEX zones), we CLEARLY recommend the electric Spider Electric 2.0 — a combustion engine is not permitted there. Use the SL only for the outer perimeter, where its advantage is passing under low-hanging piping.
Situation
Refinery and gas facility sites with extensive outer perimeters outside the safety zones. Specific feature: kilometers of low-hanging piping and cable routes, under which vegetation must be maintained.
Problème
The outer areas of refineries are crossed by pipe bridges and low-hanging routes — the standard machine goes around them, and manual crews finish the rest. High costs, slow progress.
SOLUTION
For the OUTER perimeter with low-hanging piping. For ATEX safety zones, electric variants only — no exceptions.
On the outer administrative and perimeter areas of refineries, where there's no risk of contact with hydrocarbons, the SL also covers sections under pipe bridges and cable routes (from 75 cm) — one mission, complete coverage, no manual finishing work.
Inside ATEX safety zones and in the protection zones of active pipelines, ANY combustion machine is UNACCEPTABLE — spark risk. For these zones, the Spider Electric 2.0 (zero-emission, zero ignition) has no alternative. Mission Planner geofencing ensures the SL never enters a restricted zone.
