A landfill slope. Tens of meters of vertical drop covered by a grass blanket that is the only protection against erosion and contaminant leaks. Mowing here isn't aesthetics — it's a necessity. And on landfills with active biogas, every spark is a problem.
Problem
Heavy equipment destroys what it's supposed to protect. Repeated passes along the same track create ruts and damage the turf cover. Combustion machines bring fire risk to the landfill — particularly in zones with biogas leaks. And workers? Nobody wants to work on a landfill.
SOLUTION
Lightweight, electric, no operator. No ignition near biogas, autonomous route alternation, turf cover protection.
Spider Electric 2.0 replaces a typical tractor (often 1–2 t) with a lightweight 400 kg autonomous machine. Low ground pressure minimizes surface damage. Mission Planner automatically alternates mowing routes between seasons — one season from the left, another from the right — turf cover stays evenly loaded and healthy.
The fully electric drive eliminates fire risk on the landfill — essential in zones with biogas leaks. The operator doesn't have to climb the slope. The machine mows autonomously according to a programmed route and reports status via the Automowing Portal.
