Situation
An olive grove in southern Europe. Hundreds of trees in narrow rows, with grass underneath that dries out in summer and becomes a fire hazard.
A vineyard in Italy, precise rows where every extra centimeter means damaged grapes. A fruit orchard where a large tractor strips lower branches and ruins the harvest.
Problem
Large machines don't belong in narrow rows. Tractors strip lower branches, damage fruit and injure trunks. Specialized narrow mowers exist, but they still need an operator who spends hours driving back and forth. A diesel tractor for row mowing is disproportionately expensive. And in olive groves, fire prevention is a matter of farm survival.
SOLUTION
51 centimeters of height. Centimeter-precision GPS. Drives the row, doesn't touch the branches, doesn't damage the fruit.
Raymo SAM is purpose-made for row mowing. At 51 cm tall it fits even under the lowest branches. GPS-RTK navigation with centimeter precision keeps the machine exactly in the middle of the row, no clipped trunks, no lost fruit. The operator can prune, spray or do other skilled work in the meantime.
Modular cutting decks enable year-round use. A rotary deck for regular mowing, a sickle bar for ecological meadows, a mulching deck for autumn cleanup. One machine, four seasons, zero emissions. For large traditional vineyards with conventional wide rows (over 92 cm), Spider Autonomous 2.0 may be more productive.
